Artist focus: Jaime Freestone
Jaime is a artist based in England, who uses the most beautiful texturing techniques and layers upon layers of sporadic colour in his work. We discovered him through the colour maniac, ‘Sue Kreitzman’ who at Spitalfields Market, adorned an incredible cloak covered in his painted characters. It completely grasped us and we started researching him immediately.
His style takes many paths, some works, which hold incredible patterns icluding some floral aspects against some of his more recent works that include capturing images of skulls and blending them with a beautiful array of chaotic yet neat colour.
We love his paintings as they really clock into my current research of intense experimentation with colour, heavily combined on the canvas to create ‘in your face’ works. They are a joy to the eyes, and inspire us to incorporate more colour threading and subtle tones throughout images we may create in the future, it gives a new level of depth that is a must to explore and research.
He recently exhibited some work in the Crows Nest gallery in London. Through a creative collective called digswell arts.
