British Plum, work no 6.1

British Plum, work no 6.1

Plum trees, fruit and blossoms have a rich and diverse history, being cultivated for hundred of years and used around the world. We fell in love with this sweet fragrance that stands out as being more than only a fruit based fragrance and has been blended with a range of ingredients such as French Cypress to create the idea of a plum tree in it’s entirety with a herbaceous and slightly woody evergreen aroma. This fragrance embodies not only the Plum fruit but also the wood, leaves and soil.

Candles have been burnt and used to fragrance a room for a thousand years or more with the first candles being made of tallow or bees wax. For many years candles were used to tell the time because of their reliable burn time and ease of use. Scented candles became popular in France in the 19th century with the rise of perfumeries and advances in essential oil extraction.

How to use

Light a match and hold to the natural wick for a few seconds until it catches. Each time, a candle must be burnt for a few hours before extinguishing. Never leave a candle unattended or extinguish before the suitable time as this can be dangerous and cause uneven brining of the candle. The entire surface of the candle should form a pool of melted wax. Before reigniting ensure the wax is totally reset and trim the wick to around a quarter of an inch to insure the candle is not over burnt and it burns down cleanly with no smoke or soot.
